Mobile App: Event Check-In with Swipers

Checking attendees into events is easier than ever with the new Involve Mobile App available for iOS and Android. Watch the video training below or scroll for the written directions to learn more about using the new Involve Mobile App for Event check-in.

Navigate to the Event Check-In Screen

Event Check In Navigation - Logged Into the App

  1. Log into your Involve App.
  2. Choose one of the two routes.
    1. Route 1
      1. Tap “Events” on the bottom right corner of the app.
      2. Toggle over to the “Host Events” tab.
    2. Route 2
      1. Select the menu (three stacked lines) on the top left corner of the app.
      2. Tap the blue “Collect Attendance” button.
  3. You will find a list of events being hosted by your campus. Select the blue “+” button next to your event.
  4. Begin check-in.

Event Check In Navigation - Not Logged Into the App

  1. Log into your Involve App.

  2. Choose one of the two routes.

    1. Route 1

      1. Tap “Events” on the bottom right corner of the app.

      2. Toggle over to the “Host Events” tab.

    2. Route 2

      1. Select the menu (three stacked lines) on the top left corner of the app.

      2. Tap the blue “Collect Attendance” button.

  3. Type your 4 digit Event PIN and press submit.

  4. Begin Check-In

Event Check-In Methods

You have 5 options for checking attendees in to an event.

Manual Entry

Manual entry allows you to manually enter each attendee. Manual entry is also used for guest check in so you can account for attendees who do not have a school ID.

  1. Open your Involve app, navigate to the event and select Manual Entry as your method.

  2. Type in a student ID or email and press “return.”

  3. Look for the blue success banner on the bottom of the screen.

Barcode

Barcode allows you to scan their digital ID or the barcode on their physical ID.

  1. Open your Involve app, navigate to the event and select Barcode as your method.

  2. Align the attendee's Digital ID QR code or physical ID barcode with your camera lens and wait for the confirmation.

  3. Note: Attendees can find their Digital ID by logging into the Involve app and selecting the menu on the top right corner of the app.

Bluetooth

Bluetooth allows you to use a Involve bluetooth card reader to check guests in with the app.

  1. Do NOT pair the device via your device bluetooth menu. If you have paired it this way, unpair it.

  2. Ensure that bluetooth is enabled on your device.

  3. Turn the reader on by holding the power button until the light turns on.

  4. Open your Involve app, navigate to the event and select Bluetooth as your entry method.

  5. Your device should confirm that you are connected to the reader.

  6. Swipe student ID cards. With the card’s magnetic stripe facing the thick part of the reader, swipe the card through in a level, fluid motion.

  7. Note: Bluetooth card readers are available for purchase from Involve and are compatible with both iOS and android devices. If you are interested in using a bluetooth card reader, please reach out to support.

Transact

Transact allows you to check attendees in via Transact Readers (MRD5).

  1. Do NOT pair the device via your device bluetooth menu. If you have paired it this way, unpair it.

  2. Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your device.

  3. Open your Involve app, navigate to the event and select Transact as your entry method.

  4. Tap or swipe an attendee’s ID, and successfully check them into the event.

  5. Note: Transact is compatible with both iOS and android devices. Involve does not provide Transact readers, so please reach out directly to Transact if you are interested in this method.

Headphone

Headphone allows you to swipe attendees in using the headphone jack on your device and the white headphone card reader. You will need a lightning adapter to facilitate connecting the card reader to your iOS device or a USB C headphone jack converter to facilitate connecting to your android device.

  1. Plug the card reader into the headphone jack on your device.

  2. Open your Involve app, navigate to your Event and select Headphone as the method.

  3. Begin swiping attendees into events.

  4. Note: If you are interested in using a card reader, please reach out to support.
